According to two separate sources, Special Counsel Jack Smith’s probe into the former president’s handling of secret information has reportedly resulted in the indictment of a close Trump associate.
Walt Nauta was the second person to be charged in Smith’s probe, after Trump’s indictment on Thursday night.
He worked as Trump’s personal assistant and valet in the White House and then at Mar-a-Lago.
It wasn’t immediately obvious what allegations Nauta is facing in detail.
There was no immediate confirmation from the Justice Department, and the indictment from a federal grand jury in Miami is still under secrecy.
