Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a leading candidate for the Republican nomination in 2024, was reportedly involved in an automobile accident on Tuesday morning on the way to a campaign event in Tennessee.
According to spokesperson Bryan Griffin, neither he nor his group sustained any injuries.
DeSantis is viewed as the sole viable opponent to former President Donald Trump, who has long been considered the favorite to win the Republican nomination for president in 2024.
Later this week, in the early voting state of Iowa, the Florida governor was slated to serve as the keynote speaker on a bus tour organized by the super PAC Never Back Down.
Additional information on the accident wasn’t immediately available.
