Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, made shocking allegations regarding what prompted the digital firm to bury the Hunter Biden story in the last weeks of the 2020 presidential race.
Musk outsourced his findings to Substack writer Matt Taibbi, who released a comprehensive thread detailing what happened behind the scenes at Twitter after a considerable wait.
Taibbi published a copy of that October 2020 email, which included links to tweets that Biden’s staff reportedly wanted removed.
He then rapidly shifted his focus to the “Twitter Files,” namely the concealment of the Hunter Biden laptop narrative.
Taibbi went on to claim that he had found no proof of that the federal government had a role in suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story. However he does believe that the decision to censor the story was made at the highest levels of the company and without the knowledge of then CEO Jack Dorsey.
Musk has been vocal about the importance of transparency when it comes to Twitter’s past and present efforts in curating material on the network, including prohibited content.
Twitter users were notoriously barred from sharing the New York Post’s original scoop about Hunter Biden’s laptop in the run up to the 2020 election.
